About us
Mark Stewart MA Dip Arch (Cantab) RIBA read architecture at the University of Cambridge and qualified as a chartered architect in 1981. He is a member of the RIBA Conservation Group (SE Region), the Tunbridge Wells BC Planners’ Agents Forum and the Wealden District Council Agents Panel. Following experience working on commercial projects for several large architectural firms in London, he set up his own practice in Tonbridge in 1992, subsequently moving to Tunbridge Wells where Mark Stewart Architects is now established.
We focus on Kent Sussex and the wider area, and specialise in traditional English architectural design. We have developed a vernacular style which is adapted to suit each particular project – an approach that is well-regarded by local planners and conservation groups. Mark Stewart Architects was a winner of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Civic Society Conservation Award for 2012 with the Women’s World Day of Prayer project.
